He later sold half of his company to Rick so that the shop could handle orders of his merchandise more efficiently. If you are wondering what Chumlee is doing now in 2018, well, Chumlee is still on the show, but since obtaining world-renowned status, he has started a couple of his own projects.īack in the early 2010s, he started his own company through which he sells merchandise with his own character and of his own design, including t-shirts among other items. He brings comedy to the show, and because of his supposed dimwitted personality, he actually became a lovable character. Since then, he has featured in more than 270 episodes, contributing to the show’s popularity with his own set of skills and characteristics. The show started airing in 2009, and though his character wasn’t planned for the show, after a few appearances Chumlee’s popularity made him one of the stars. He started working at the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop at age 21, and when the store became the subject of the new reality show “Pawn Stars” aired on the History Channel, our Chumlee worked in the background, sorting out items, managing papers, before appearing behind the counter. The nickname has stuck with him until the present day, and now everybody knows him as Chumlee. He got his nickname Chumlee when he was only 12 years old mostly because of his large stature as he resembled a walrus named Chumlee from the animated TV series “Tennessee Tuxedo”. However, they can be produced at home by using bleach, and can be stabilized by precipitation with barium. These are only stable in strongly basic solutions and will degrade after about a day. This can be used to make fake blood as a party trick.īoth oxidation states readily from complexes with water, cyanide, nitrous oxide (ferrous only) and oxalates (ferric only) įerrates(VI) are compounds of iron in the +6 state. When an iodide-containing solution is added to a solution containing ferric ion, iron(II) iodide and iron precipitate.Ī relatively sensitive test for ferric iron is the addition of thiocyanates, which form a deep red complex. Iron(III) iodide is unstable with respect to disproportionation. Ferric compounds, such as iron(III) chloride, are strongly Lewis acidic. A small amount of acid will turn this solution clear as the 2+ is converted to 3+. One example is iron(III) nitrate: it is lavender in the solid state, but dissolves to form a rust-colored solution, with the dominant iron species being 2+. However, interesting color changes may occur due to complex formation. This is a source of annoyance for most chemists. The ferric state of iron is only soluble in acidic solutions and will quickly convert to hydrous iron(III) oxide if the acidity is reduced. Solid iron(II) sulfate may oxidize in air to form iron(III) oxide deposits. In basic solution, however, iron(II) oxide will precipitate and be oxidized by water to iron(III) oxide. The ferrous state of iron is normally soluble in water and is resistant to oxidation in acidic solution. Iron metal will react with diluted acids, such as hydrochloric acid, but passivates in contact with concentrated acids, such as nitric acid or phosphoric acid. In solution, iron tends to form ferrous salts, but the addition of hydrogen peroxide (and often atmospheric oxygen) will promote the formation of ferric compounds. It will also react with sulfur at elevated temperatures if finely divided to form iron sulfide (FeS). Iron reacts with the halogens to form its halide salts. Magnetite may be produced by ignition of steel wool. It also will form mixed valence compounds like magnetite (Fe 3O 4), that contain both ferrous and ferric state iron in their structure. ![]() Iron reacts with air in the presence of water to form Fe 2O 3, commonly known as rust. Other oxidation states are possible present no interest to the amateur chemist. Iron forms compounds most commonly found in it's ferrous(II) and ferric(III) oxidation states, but it can exist in the (IV) and (VI) valence states as ferrates. Very pure single-crystal iron, used for research purposes, is far weaker structurally than aluminum metal. It is known to exist in four allotropes, and it may exist in a fifth. It is commonly known to be ferromagnetic, the word being partially derived from the Latin word for iron. It has a melting point of 1538 degrees C. ![]() The amount of available frame data is fantastic and the hourglasses to display the timing for combos in the training is greatly appreciated. It goes above and beyond the basic intro on how to play this specific fighting game but also introduces high level fighting game strategies and tech. ![]() One of the greatest fighting game tutorials that goes into incredible depth. The fighters in the story are all explained and have reason to be where they are. It's easily one of the best story modes of any fighting game. There's so much time between fights and time spent building out everything. The DLC characters are somewhat hit and miss with some of them being far less interesting compared to others. Of the online games I played none of them had a perfect connection and there was some modicum amount of lag involved despite me having a fast internet connection. This could be from me not being good enough or using the wrong character but I couldn't convert anything from ducking low attacks which made me feel useless punishing people who keep rolling at me. Sometimes I only jump straight up into the air. Not just x and square but also things like diagonal jumping. Sometimes I feel like the game is missing inputs from my controller when I use commands involving multiple buttons at once. This Krypt is possibly one of the worst things this entire generation. That and force moving the camera disorients me because it causes more motion blur and makes me sick. It's so tedious I don't even want to open chests anymore. All it makes me do is re-adjust my stupid camera after every chest. Why is it not the lore and atmosphere? Why does the camera change all the time to zoom in on the chest I'm opening? I don't care. ![]() Why is this random traveler such a main focus point of the Krypt. Who cares about the fighter, let me enjoy the MK environment. Also the camera is so zoomed in on the fighter. Part of it was my fault for ignoring it but I didn't think it would be so bad since it's you know, 2020 and technology has advanced. The motion blur implemented is straight from the last century and makes me nauseous to the point I feel like throwing up and need to lie down and sleep it off. It feels like whomever signed off on the Krypt has not made a game since the PSP era. Let's take a break from electronics and turn back to 3D printing. ![]() (Plus it would not be great fun to read either).Īfter you have finished installing the clock face LEDs it should look like the final image. It's a lot easier for you to follow this than for me to explain every connection in words. It shows you which lengths of wire to use where, the direction of the LED strips, and how to route everything. Now that I've explained and shown you the first few connections you can follow the rest using the diagram I have added above (the one on a dark background). When you get to seventh LED strip you need to attach a 37cm set of wires to its outgoing side instead of the usual 23cm wires. Repeat the same steps four more times following the path around the clock as shown in the diagram above. The wires coming from this one are routed through the support and turn 90 degrees to the left up into the next support. The adhesive backing can then be removed on this strip, some glue applied to the white LED mount and the strip fitted ontop. Solder the incoming side of the LED strip to the wires just routed around the corner from the previous strip. This will mean the wires are completely hidden when we finish off the clock by adding the 3D printed sleaves to the shelves (which we have not yet printed yet so don't panic!).įor the next strip, take another set of 23cm long wires and solder these to the outgoing side (the end the data flow arrows are pointing towards) of a fresh strip of nine LEDs. Whenever you are routing wires along the outside perimeter of the clock ensure you use the inside holes on the wire guides. Now route the wires at the corner of the clock face down through the wire guide on the support they are on, through and into the adjacent support and up. Remove the self-adhesive backing from the rear of the LEDs and also apply some glue to the top of the LED mount (for extra grip as I found sometime mine would come unstuck without the additional glue) you can then position the strip in place ensuring that the data directional arrows are pointing towards the top of the clock. Attach two separate sets of 23cm long wires to both ends of one of the 9 long LED strips from earlier. Our first LED strip will sit on the white LED mount above the unique support we printed to house the electronics in the top right corner. Pay good attention to these as you assemble your clock. ![]() There are little arrows going along the length of the LED strips which represent the direction of data flow. The order in which the strips are connected, and their orientation, is very important. Now that the LEDs and their wires are prepared we can start to assemble them onto the front of our clock face. ![]() Instead, you use Task Manager to put individual apps and processes into it. The term is a bit of a misnomer, because you can’t put your entire PC into Efficiency Mode. It lowers the process priority of background applications, among other efficiency tricks. ![]() Efficiency Mode, introduced in Windows 11 22H2, can speed up your PC and improve laptop battery life. Task Manager has another trick up its sleeve for juicing Windows 11 performance. Now that you’ve selected all the programs that you want to disable at startup, the next time you restart your computer, the system won’t launch those unnecessary programs automatically, and your PC may run faster. You’ll usually find very solid information about the program or service. If you’re worried about one of the listed applications, you can go to a site run by Reason Software called “ Should I Block It?” and search for the file name. With Task Manager’s help, I easily discovered that bzbui.exe is Backblaze backup software, something I want to run automatically during startup. Bing will then launch with links to sites with information about the program or service. That opens File Explorer and takes it to the folder where the file is located, which may give you another clue about the program’s purpose.įinally, and most helpfully, you can select Search online after you right-click. ![]() You can also right-click the item and select Open file location. Right-click an item and select Properties for more information about it, including its location on your hard disk, whether it has a digital signature, and other information such as the version number, the file size, and the last time it was modified. The Task Manager can find information about unfamiliar programs. (Anyone who immediately knows what “bzbui.exe” is, please raise your hand. Many of the programs and services that run on startup may be familiar to you, like Microsoft OneDrive or Spotify. Also, if you later decide you want it to launch at startup, you can return to this area of the Task Manager, right-click the application and select Enable. This doesn't disable the program entirely it only prevents it from launching at startup - you can run the application after launch. To stop a program or service from launching at startup, right-click it and select Disable. You can use the Task Manager to get information about programs that launch at startup and disable any you don't need. Note, though, that the screen doesn’t show how much each program will impact your performance after startup, during normal PC operations. The list includes each program's name as well as its publisher, whether it's enabled to run on startup, and its “Startup impact,” which is how much it slows down Windows 11 when the system starts up. (It’s the fourth icon from the top.) It displays a list of the programs and services that launch when you start Windows. There's a lot you can use Task Manager for, but here we’re focusing only on killing unnecessary programs that run at startup.Ĭlick the Startup apps icon on the left side of the screen. To do it, first launch the Task Manager in one of these ways: Press Ctrl-Shift-Esc, right-click the lower-right corner of your screen and select Task Manager, or type task manager into the Windows 11 search box and press Enter. Your PC will run faster if you stop them from running. Your Windows 11 PC could be a laggard if programs you rarely or never use are running in the background. |
